Haematology Clinics, Dorothea Unit providing day unit treatment and chemotherapy services, inpatient treatment on designated medical ward.

Intensive inpatient chemotherapy and Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Auto transplants provided by George Eliot Consultants at the University Hospital, Coventry.

Specialist Thrombosis and Haemostasis Clinic.

Inpatient anticoagulation services provided by anticoagulant nurses. Outpatient anticoagulation therapy monitoring provided by the Laboratory based service.

Full haematology laboratory service including blood transfusion provided locally and by referral to specialist laboratories as needed.

Antenatal Haemoglobinopathy screening provided by the Laboratory in conjunction with the Obstetric Team.

Nurse led Health Needs Assessment Clinics and prechemotherapy clinics.

Our Clinical Nurse Specialists have a specialist knowledge on all aspects of anticoagulation therapy. 

They liaise with laboratory staff working in the coagulation section of haematology, nursing staff working on wards and out-patient clinics, consultant haematologists and the patient and his/her referring GP or clinician to ensure that the best possible care and advice is given to patients.
