The award, part of a national initiative by the Chief Nursing Officers at NHS England, celebrates the vital contributions made by healthcare and maternity support workers across the NHS.
It recognises individuals, such as Lisa, who exemplify the core values of the NHS through their unwavering dedication to patient care and support for nursing and midwifery colleagues.
Lisa began her career at George Eliot Hospital on 30 January 1989 and has dedicated an extraordinary 35 years to supporting patients and staff with compassion and professionalism.
A pillar of the Felix Holt Ward, she is widely respected for her role in mentoring new staff and student nurses, ensuring that they learn not just clinical skills, but also the values and standards that underpin exceptional patient care.
“Lisa is an exemplary example of what the NHS should be proud of,” said Natalie Green, Chief Nursing Officer at George Eliot Hospital.
“She places the patient front and centre in everything she does. Her dedication, mentorship, and compassion make her an irreplaceable member of our team.”
Lisa's influence extends beyond her daily duties; she plays a key role in the onboarding of new healthcare workers and will soon be mentoring students from the new T-Level programme.
Her leadership and warmth have made a lasting impact on the ward culture and the future generation of healthcare professionals.
For Lisa, this recognition is a tribute to decades of service driven by kindness, integrity, and commitment. For her colleagues and patients, it is a reminder of the difference one person can make.
