"I was very supported by the radiographers. They explained & taught me loads about the machines and parts of the body.I am now confident that I will pursue a career in the medical field. I particularly was intrigued with the MRI and CT scans of the brain, which has lead me to consider doing neuroscience or radiology in the future."
"My experience at A&E has provided me with an in-depth understanding of the industry and has broadened my perspective on the work that goes into ensuring the well-being of patients. I have learned so much, not only in terms of technical skills but also in terms of the importance of teamwork, effective communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment."
"My placement showed me the different areas of finance, and what each role consists of. This gave me an insight into which of these roles I would like to pursue in the future. It was very insightful, and was enjoyable."
"The hospital offers a comprehensive & well-structured program that allows participants to gain firsthand exposure to various aspects of the healthcare industry.I was able to achieve these goals and even exceeded some expectations by participating in procedures and patient interactions that broadened my knowledge and skill set."
"Throughout my time at A&E, I was consistently impressed by the professionalism, dedication, and expertise of the entire team. The guidance and mentorship provided by you and the staff were exceptional. I am truly grateful for the patience and support extended to me as I navigated through various tasks and challenges."
"I feel like I have gained a more realistic mindset towards medicine and the NHS as a whole. I understand the challenges behind the job role but also that it is very rewarding. My desire to work in medicine has been nothing but confirmed from this placement and has also motivated me to get to that position as well."
"I highly recommend the work experience program at GEH. My time at the hospital was both enriching and fulfilling. The application process was straightforward, and the hospital staff and HR department were exceptionally supportive and responsive. Throughout my placement, I felt genuinely supported by my mentor, who provided valuable guidance and feedback, contributing significantly to my learning and growth."
"Yes as the team were great at teaching me and allowing me to observe a variety of jobs. For example, seeing a clinic vs patients on wards."
