Team Lead

We provide a controlled environment for patients to exercise under the supervision of a physiotherapist. We provide structured exercise including strengthening and endurance for patients as well as a weekly education session to improve knowledge and ways to cope with respiratory conditions.

Our Team

Simon Godfrey – Team lead

Lucy O’Donoghue – Clinical Specialist

Mike Titley – Senior Physiotherapist

You will be invited to an initial assessment where we gather information on how you cope with your condition. Then a walking test will be performed to determine your current level of exercise tolerance.

Following the assessment will be a series of classes, twice a week for 6 weeks, which includes strengthening and endurance exercises as well as education. After the completion of the classes another walk test will be performed to compare exercise tolerance with when the class was started.

What it will help with:

  • improve your muscle strength so you can use the oxygen you breathe more efficiently and become less breathless
  • help you cope better with feeling out of breath
  • improve your fitness so you feel more confident to do everyday tasks
  • help you feel better mentally help you understand and manage your condition better.
