Dr Raman did his training in general medicine at University Hospital in Coventry and Warwickshire and got his MRCP in 1997. He then underwent higher specialist training in Gastroenterology and Medicine in Liverpool.

He has been a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the George Eliot Hospital since November 2003. He is also Hon Assoc. Professor at the University of Warwick and at Warwick Medical School.

He is the Clinical Lead for Alcohol Services in North Warwickshire and Lead Clinician for GI cancer at the George Eliot Hospital.

Dr Raman has a major research interest in diagnosis and treatment of cancer and has published and presented papers on both sides of the Atlantic. He has special expertise in lasers in endoscopic treatment of cancer, which he is setting up at the George Eliot Hospital.

He is happy to see referrals in all aspects of liver disease, reflux and dyspepsia, inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome and also suspected upper and lower GI cancer in addition to general medicine.
