With this new probe, compatible with the hospital’s latest Ultrasound Machines, they can offer a wider range of specialist examinations that directly improve patient outcomes.
Most importantly, the probe allows the team to perform highly precise musculoskeletal (MSK) injections, targeting pain exactly where it hurts and providing patients with faster, more effective relief.
In addition, the probe’s high-resolution imaging enables detailed assessments of soft tissues, including small lumps, tendons, and ligaments. This improved diagnostic ability means patients receive quicker and more accurate diagnoses, helping guide timely and appropriate treatments.
Before the introduction of this technology, many patients faced long waits for specialist appointments due to limited resources. The Ultrasound Department is now committed to reducing these wait times and offering patients more convenient appointment options, ensuring that care is delivered sooner when it matters most.
A spokesperson for the Ultrasound Department said, “We are incredibly grateful to the League of Friends for their generous support. This equipment is transformative for patient care—allowing us to deliver targeted pain relief and speed up diagnoses, ultimately enhancing our patients’ experience and wellbeing.”
Mike Parsons, Chairman of the League of Friends, added, “Supporting the hospital teams to improve patient care is at the heart of what we do. We are proud to contribute to the wellbeing of our community and thankful to all our volunteers who make donations like this possible.”
