This technology allows healthcare professionals to quickly and accurately locate suitable veins, leading to reduced discomfort for patients, and improved efficiency for staff.

Speaking about the donation, Jo Leonard, Advanced Clinical Practitioner for Gastroenterology at George Eliot Hospital said: "We are incredibly grateful to the League of Friends for this invaluable piece of equipment.

“Finding suitable veins can sometimes be challenging, particularly for patients with certain medical conditions or those who have had multiple previous procedures.

“This will make a real difference to the comfort and care we can provide, leading to a much more positive experience for our patients."

Mike Parsons, Chairman of the George Eliot Hospital League of Friends, added, "Supporting the hospital and enhancing patient care is vitally important. We are delighted to fund the purchase of this vein finder for the Gastro Day Unit. We hope it will make a tangible difference to the patients who use this vital service."

The portable nature of the QV-600 will allow staff to easily use the device across different areas within the Gastro Day Unit, further enhancing its utility.

This latest donation underscores the ongoing commitment of the George Eliot Hospital League of Friends to supporting the hospital and its patients through fundraising and the provision of essential equipment.
