The Trust receives over £100k a year in charitable donations. These donations come from many different sources including members of the local community, patients, carers and local organisations. Donations range from few pounds to several thousand pounds and a wide variety of activities benefit the charity.

All money raised directly benefits our patients and the Trust is grateful for every penny.

Charitable Funds Code of conduct

Charitable funds Code of Conduct

It is usual for fund raisers and donors to provide financial resources for a specific project or hospital department.

However, this can lead to funds lying dormant for significant periods of time and provides no advantage to patients.

In order to address this concern, the Trustees of the Hospital Charity, who are responsible for the administration of the fund have approved the following code of conduct:

  • The Trustees will always respect the views and wishes of the fund raisers/ donors with regards to specific use of monies raised whenever practicable.

  • Where funds remain unspent or unallocated for more than 12 months the Trustees have the authority to reallocate such funds into a general fund to provide benefit for the hospital and its patients.

  • There will be specific arrangements for fund raising planned over a longer period and for substantial accumulated fund raising for major projects.
