The Trust is committed to maintaining a work force that reflects the diverse nature of the area it serves. We tolerate no form of discrimination and we are committed to limiting any such discrimination whether it is on the basis of gender (including transgender), age, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, caring responsibilities or social class.
This goes for staff and the communities we serve. We aim to make our services as possible and ensure nobody is excluded. We have measures in place to ensure equality and diversity are promoted and celebrated at the George Eliot. To help us achieve this, all our staff are required to undergo Equality and Diversity Training.
Single Equality Scheme and Equality Delivery Service (EDS)
The Trust has adopted a Equality workforce profile, single equality scheme and EDS action plan to eliminate discrimination and reduce inequalities between groups of staff and service users.
In addition, the Trust’s Equality and Diversity Group meets on a monthly basis to ensure the Trust is meeting its equality obligations in relation to ensuring all service users and staff are treated fairly. All Trust policies and procedures are equality impact assessed to ensure they have no adverse effects on staff or service users.
