A kind donation by a local garage will be used to help local runners this weekend.
Research Garage, located on Eliot Park, handed over a cheque for £500 to the organisers of the first George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust Fun Run
Charitable Funds Coordinator, Jean Whittaker MBE, said: “I’d like to thank staff from Research Garage for this kind donation. The donation will be used to purchase refreshments and other items for runners meaning that all the money raised from entry fees and sponsorship can go directly to the Trust’s Breast Care Unit where it will be put towards purchasing a new ultrasound scanner.”
The 5km fun run takes place this Sunday (15 September) starting at 11am from the GETEC car park. Everyone over 11 can take part and entry on the day cost £5. More information is available on the Trust website – www.geh.nhs.uk/run
