Staff at George Eliot Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit are thanking local charity ‘Katrina Charity of Angels’ after receiving a £3,000 donation.
Charity representative David Emery recently visited the Unit, along with fellow fundraiser Susan Wendy Tierney, to present the nursing team with the cheque, bringing the total amount donated to the Trust by the charity in recent years to almost £15,000.
David set up the Charity in memory of his daughter, Katrina, and every penny collected through his tireless fundraising efforts has been donated to the Special Care Baby Unit at the George Eliot.
The Trust will use the latest donation to purchase items including breast pumps and comfortable chairs for a new space within the Unit.
Special Care Baby Unit Manager, Cheryl Curson, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to accept another cheque from David and Sue and everyone who works in our unit is extremely grateful for their outstanding effort. Dave has already told me he’ll be back with even more money for us in the near future!”
