Urgent and Emergency care is one of the busiest departments at the George Eliot Hospital, with up to 230 patients seen daily in the department, often more at weekends.
The team is the front end service that delivers care, investigates and stabilises patients before admitting them for further management, transferring to the Acute Medical Unit or discharging back into the community.
Our Urgent Care Centre runs 7 days a week.
We have Senior Clinicians in the department 24/7 and there is a Consultant or Associate Specialist present 12 hours a day 365 days a year.
Out of Hours services is currently located in the main hospital.
