The Chief Nursing Officer provides professional leadership for nursing, midwifery and AHPs, advising the Board on all aspects of professional practice for these groups. They are also the Accountable Officer for controlled drugs (CDs) and the DIPC (Director of Infection Prevention and Control).
The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for adult and children’s safeguarding, patient and public involvement and experience, risk management, infection prevention and control, the development and management of the Trust volunteer strategy, smoking cessation and the management of the complaints and chaplaincy teams. The Chief Nursing Officer leads on the development and delivery of systems and processes which relates to Clinical Governance within the Trust.
