The George Eliot Hospital Maternity unit will be hosting an Open Day at the Trust’s Maternity building on Saturday 6 September between 10am and 2pm.
Local families, parents, children, grandchildren are welcome to attend the event to meet the Maternity team, find out more about the services offered and enter a competition to name the new maternity mascot.
To mark the redevelopment of the current Maternity unit which starts in September, the George Eliot trust is asking local families to get involved in naming a fun Kangaroo and her baby as the mascot for the services, by coming along on the day and suggesting a name. This mascot will then be used on all promotional and printed materials for the maternity unit.
Operations Manager for Maternity, Sarah Piper said: “We are opening our doors to the local community on 6th September and inviting families, parents and parents-to-be to come along and meet our friendly staff, get some advice and information, take a look at the labour wards and meet the artist who has designed the new look for the building. There will be fun activities on the day, information stalls and refreshments.”
“There’s some really exciting work going on in the maternity unit at the moment, not just cosmetically but also in terms of improving our services so we are really keen for people come along and get involved in the fun.
“We have a new mascot which everyone will get to see for the time, so we are hoping to have some fun naming our new kangaroos.”
The open day is on 6th September between 10.00 am and 2 pm. For more information email: firstname.lastname@example.org
