George Eliot Hospital makes a refreshing change to keep staff hydrated

Wellbeing Walkabout
As part of the Hospital’s  wellbeing strategy for staff, water coolers have been installed and reusable sports water bottles have been handed out across all the wards and offices to keep staff hydrated.

The “Wellbeing Walkabout” which took place on Wednesday (10 September) gave staff the opportunity to get their free drinks bottle, a bottle of water and piece of fruit – supplied by the hospital’s resident fruit and veg provider, the Barrow Boys as a refreshing treat.

Along with this, there have been initial 16 water coolers installed around the hospital for staff and patients to take advantage of.

Director of HR and chair of the wellbeing group, Dorothy Hogg said: “It has been raised previously that staff on the wards don’t always have the time to leave the ward for water to refresh and rehydrate so we felt it was an important issue that needed to be addressed.

“So today has given us the opportunity to help our staff to stay hydrated by introducing water coolers and a free refillable drinks container, to support their health and wellbeing whilst at work, which I have to say has been really well received.”
