Fundraisers Claire and Scot Barlow visited the George Eliot Hospital labour suite to make a donation in memory of their daughter Ariana.
The couple have started ‘Ariana's Hope’, a charity set up in memory of their baby daughter Ariana who sadly passed away in November 2014. Their kind donation is being used to buy equipment within a special room to support parents who have experienced a similar loss.
An online donation website, car boot sale and a bake sale has been used to raise money for their fund. The couple are also planning future events including an auction and charity ball at the Leicester Space Centre on 21st November 2015.
Their donation has been used to purchase equipment to provide a more comfortable environment for parents including a television, coffee maker and radio. The room has also been refurbished to become a sensitive and practical environment for families who have experienced loss.
Head of midwifery Alison Talbot said "I would like to thank Claire and Scot, their friends and families on behalf of the maternity unit at the George Eliot.
"This donation is helping to create a much needed purpose built area for families that need support at a very difficult time."
