Temporary visiting restrictions now lifted

The temporary visiting restrictions that had been in place at the George Eliot Hospital since Thursday 26 March due to Norovirus have now been lifted and all wards and departments are open to visitors as usual.

For a full list of visiting times, please take a look at the Trust website -

We would like to remind friends and family members to help us to protect our patients and staff by not coming into the hospital if you are feeling unwell, especially if you have symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting or flu.

If you are or have been suffering from these symptoms please do not attend the hospital until you are 48 hours symptom free, unless you need urgent medical attention. If you are unwell and require advice, please contact your GP or NHS111.

Please remember to wash your hands with warm water and soap when entering and leaving ward areas and use the alcohol gel dispensers when entering and leaving the hospital.
