The temporary visiting restrictions that had been in place at the George Eliot Hospital since Monday 4 April 2016, because of an outbreak of sickness and diarrhoea due to Norovirus, have now been lifted. All wards and departments are now open to visitors as usual.
For a full list of visiting times, please take a look at the Trust website - http://www.geh.nhs.uk/visitors/visiting-times/
There is still significant Norovirus infection in the community. We would like to remind friends and family members to help us to protect our patients and staff by not coming into the hospital if you are feeling unwell, especially if you have symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting or flu.
If you are or have been suffering from these symptoms please do not attend the hospital until you are 48 hours symptom free, unless you need urgent medical attention. If you are unwell and require advice, please contact your GP or NHS111.
Please remember to wash your hands with warm water and soap when entering and leaving ward areas and use the alcohol gel dispensers when entering and leaving the hospital.
