A number of Unions recognised by George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust, including Unison, Unite and the Royal College of Midwives are taking part in a national strike on Monday 24 November between the hours of 7 am and 11 am.
Members of the Society of Radiographers will also be taking strike action between 08.00am and 12.00 noon on Monday 24 November 2014. This means that all radiography appointments at the George Eliot Hospital that are planned to take place during that time will be re-scheduled and patients will be contacted prior to 24 November to arrange a suitable alternative time and date.
We can assure patients however that there will be emergency radiography cover during the time of the strike action. Normal activity will be resumed from the afternoon of the 24th
This will apply to a small number of staff at the George Eliot Hospital however we want to reassure patients that we have robust plans in place to ensure a safe level of cover so that planned activity is not affected on the day of the strike action. Any changes to appointments will be communicated to our patients as necessary.
We have a good relationship with our staff and we are assured that, despite this action our high standards and levels of care will be maintained as we always put our patients first.
