A local family held a night of song and dance in memory of their much loved Grandma and raised a whopping £1100 for George Eliot Hospital’s Breast Care Unit.
Sisters Libby and Kirsty Ward, from Bedworth, wanted to do something special to celebrate their much loved grandma’s life and for the care that their auntie, Joan Baber, received recently at the Breast Care Unit so decided to organise a charity night full of song and dance.
The pair, along with their mum Lindsey, set about organising the event. Julie Bromage Dance Academy offered to help with the entertainment as did Maggie Peters. The event, which was held at Saunders Hall Working Men’s Club in Bedworth, sold over 250 tickets.
A cheque was presented to a representative from the Breast Care Unit by Lindsey and her family.
George Eliot Hospital Fundraising Coordinator, Jean Whittaker MBE said: "On behalf of the Breast Care Unit we would like to thank the Ward family for organising the event and raising such a wonderful amount.
"We also express sincere thanks to everyone who attended the event, your contribution is much appreciated.”
