George Eliot Hospital has launched new web advice for families before, during and after birth.
The new information includes a wealth of advice to support families planning their pregnancy. Advice includes; what to expect during your pregnancy, information about antenatal screening, community services, pregnancy support and parent education classes. Information about the maternity team and how to get around the hospital is also included.
Antenatal information includes a few of the top tips for prospective parents included within the Maternity Unit parenting classes. A stop smoking service advice service for pregnant mums and healthy weight guidance is also included within the new site.
Advice within the new website includes valuable information about birthing options during your birth and also promotes the new birthing pool rooms officially opened this year.
The web information also includes after birth support including a guide to the different ward areas, After Birth Listening Service, Breastfeeding support and New Born Hearing Test.
Head of Midwifery, Alison Talbot said: “We hope that pregnant mums to be will find our new information valuable during their pregnancy and afterwards.
“The next steps for our site will include medical advice, videos and a virtual tour around our recently refurbished facilities.”
