Anyone who has experienced the sad loss of a baby is invited to a dedicated special service at Coventry Cathedral during Baby Loss Awareness week (9th-15th October) on Friday 14th October 2016.
Baby loss awareness week enables bereaved parents, family members and friends to commemorate the all too brief lives of their babies, with others across the world. The week also provides an opportunity for people to talk openly about the subject and raise awareness of baby loss.
George Eliot Hospital, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire and SOPHIA baby loss support group have organised this service at Coventry Cathedral, Chapel of Unity at 1.30pm. The service will be led by George Eliot Hospital chaplain, Ricarda Witcombe, UHCW chaplain Rev Simon Betteridge and the Cathedral’s Canon Pastor, Rev Kathryn Fleming, and will be followed by refreshments.
George Eliot Hospital will also be holding an information stall within the hospital (11th – 14th October).
The week will end with a special ‘Wave of Light’ where people are asked to light a candle at 7pm on Saturday 15th October. On this day, everyone is invited to take part in this global event to remember all the babies that have died during pregnancy, at, during or after birth. Simply light a candle at 7pm and leave it burning for at least an hour to support others to honour and remember those babies who lit up the lives of their families for such a short time.
If you would like more information about the event contact email@example.com or visit the group on facebook at www.facebook.com/sophiapls.
