George Eliot Hospital is sharing the following advice to both our staff and patients during the current adverse weather conditions of snow and ice.
We are really busy in our Accident and Emergency department and our staff onsite are working with partners across the local health system to maintain safe patient care.
Allow extra time for essential journeys and read this useful advice from the Met Office.
For minor injuries and ailments you can call NHS 111 for advice.
Please avoid A&E unless it is an accident or emergency. The kind of serious accidents and emergencies that should been treated at A&E include unconsciousness, heavy blood loss, suspected heart attacks and strokes, and broken bones.
Patients - if you have an appointment with us, Monday 11 December, then please attend if you are able to get here safely. We're planning to run a normal service. If you can't attend, please contact us through our contact centre on 02476 865050.
Patient car parks are open as usual.
Message for staff: If you are due to work today, on our late or night shifts, it is important you attempt to come in where possible but do allow extra time for travel and take care.
If you do have problems with travel today please contact the hospital through your normal routes of communication - through our onsite capacity team.
All our car parks are open but remember to park considerately.
