Saturday night at the Saunders support George Eliot Hospital

Teresa Noon Trust March 2018

Talented solo singers and popular local band ‘Have This’ helped raise money to support patients at George Eliot Hospital at a charity night at Saunders Club in Bedworth, organised by the Teresa Noon Trust and its group of dedicated friends.

The entertainment event raised £2200 to support patients at the George Eliot Hospital Dorothea Unit. Local vocalists Paul Whittaker, Ian Lloyd and singer Jackie Baker joined Have This for a musical night enjoyed by a packed local audience.

The Teresa Noon Trust in association with Q’s Karaoke (Bill and Sue Earp) have been regularly organising events to help buy new equipment for the Oncology department at the George Eliot.

The Trust was originally set up in memory of dedicated fundraiser Teresa Noon, who sadly passed away two years ago. Altogether the dedicated group of fundraisers has fundraised over £30,000 to support the hospital in just over two years.

Teresa’s husband and ‘Have This’ vocalist Trevor said: “Teresa started fundraising back in 2015 when she was first diagnosed with cancer. All she wanted to do was raise money to make life a little less stressful for people receiving treatment. To date, we have helped the unit purchase infusion pumps, a portable ultra sound scanner and sixteen specialist electric patient chairs.”

“I would like to thank everyone who came along to the Saunders and those behind the scenes who make these events happen and who give up their time for free.”

One of the organisers, Tracey Davies who is also a cancer patient said: “People like me wouldn’t be here today without kind donations and we couldn’t make these events happen without our team of fundraisers and everyone who came along.”

Dorothea Manager, Kay Fox said: “We would like to thank the Teresa Noon Trust, the volunteers and the local people who attended the night out. Together they are helping to make a difference.”
