Partners Pauline Visgandis and Graham Barnett both retired last week from the George Eliot Hospital and are looking forward to long holidays on their narrow boat after over 47 years service between them.
Pauline, an information analyst had worked at the George Eliot for 27 years after starting out in an administration role before moving onto complaints and then sorting out referrals for treatment.
Graham had worked at the George Eliot for 20 years where he was a popular and well known joiner within the Estates team.
Bubbly Pauline was overwhelmed by the number of people who attended her office farewell. Her team had hidden her leaving presents around the office to make her retirement a little bit more complicated.
Both retirees’ are looking forward to leaving this week and going on a long and slow trip cruising to Yorkshire and back on their narrow boat, Naiad (the Water Nymph).
Graham said: “I am going to miss the many people I meet at the George Eliot.
“I am usually working in different areas across the site so have got to know many people over the years.”
Pauline added: “I have had fun at the George Eliot and met some great people along the way so wish them all the best for the future”. Both Pauline and Graham also plan to spend more time with their children and grandchildren during their retirement
