A quiz night on Friday 27th April has been organised by the George Eliot Hospital Bowel Cancer Support group to raise funds to support patients affected by the disease.
Local people are invited to submit teams for the quiz at Griff and Coton Club (Heath end road, Nuneaton, CV10 7JQ). The event starts at 7:30pm and the team entry fee is £10 per team (maximum of six people). There will be a prize for the winner plus a raffle and roll a coin events.
Last year the group based at the hospital raised over £2000 from a sponsored walk and hope to grow this friendly support group officially launched in 2017.
Anyone who has experienced bowel cancer is invited to join the support group, hosted by the team of clinical nurse specialists from the George Eliot Hospital.
The group meet the fourth Tuesday of every month from 6 -8pm in the George Eliot Hospital Raveloe Conference Room (First floor, main hospital).
Topics discussed informally in the group have included the long term effects of surgery, dietary needs following an operation and understanding your cancer diagnosis. Patients have the opportunity to discuss the colorectal service and are providing valuable information to help improve the patient experience. The group have already provided the nursing team with valuable information to improve patient information leaflets and advice.

Patients are reminded that the support group does not replace their usual appointments.
