Senior doctors at George Eliot hospital are inviting local men to join them at a special information event about prostate issues on Wednesday 28 September
The free ‘Question Time’ event will give people an opportunity to receive valuable advice and ask questions to the panel of expert consultants from the George Eliot Hospital.
The event begins at 6.30pm in the George Eliot Hospital Education and Training Centre. Car parking for the event will be free. Tea and coffee will be made available from 6pm.
Lead urology consultant, Mr Apakama said: “We hope this event will enlighten the local community about prostate issues and the problems that may occur when patients reach a certain age.
“Prostate issues can be controlled with intervention and our event will help to describe what people can do to reduce the risk and explains what we do to support our patients with these conditions.”
“This health awareness event will aim to explain why it is so important for men aged over 50 and up to 75 to get a blood test to check their prostate.”
