Patients can choose where and when to book their blood tests at George Eliot Hospital.
Newly installed kiosks at George Eliot Hospital and online booking services are giving patients the choice about where and when to have their blood tests.
Local people now have a variety of ways to book appointments either at the hospital or out in the community.
Patients can pre book their appointments via the George Eliot Hospital website (www.geh.nhs.uk), call 024 7615 3546 between 10am-3pm or use the new kiosk facilities, situated outside the entrance of the blood test department on the ground floor of the hospital.
Patients can choose a specific time for a blood test appointment that suits them and fits with their schedule. In this way patients will ultimately benefit from shorter queues and reduced waiting times.
Patients can use the new touch screen kiosks to check in for their booked appointments, book appointments in advance at the department and check in for a slot for that day (if available)
The 24 hour online booking service allows patients to book blood test appointments at the hospital, Bedworth Health Centre and Atherstone Memorial Hall.
Pathology Manager, Nigel Blease said: “Online booking is a simple, quick and effective way to organise a blood test and the kiosks are another method we have introduced to shorten waiting times for patients.
“All of our staff are trained to use the kiosks and more than happy to help patients use these for the first time.
“Booking online is easy. You see the times available, click on the one you want and the online system confirms the appointment straight away. ”
Patients in Outpatients and Therapy Services will also see kiosks introduced into patient areas over the next few weeks.
The blood test department is open from Monday to Friday 7am - 4.45pm (4.15pm on Friday). (Note, 7-9am is appointment only)
Children’s Blood Tests Appointments are also available to book online.
Visit our website to book your appointment www.geh.nhs.uk/directory-of-services/blood-tests/. Online booking is recommended where possible.
