Parents to be are invited to informative parenting skills and birth preparation classes at the George Eliot Hospital, Saturdays 2-4pm.
A wide range of topics are covered in these classes which are led by a team of midwives from the Maternity Unit which are open to all mum’s booked at George Eliot Hospital over 32 weeks.
Parent Craft covers preparing for baby, going into labour, ante natal and how to look after baby for the first 10 days after the baby is born. Other topics included in this popular new class include pain relief, infant feeding, sleep safe practices and emotional wellbeing for new parents.
Parents can book from 22 weeks and attend from 32 weeks by calling 02476 86 5022 between 11:00-2:00pm. You can also speak to your midwife for further information about these sessions.
Community Midwife, Donna Evans said: “Many mums are really anxious about giving birth before they attend our class and found the session invaluable.
“We have had only positive feedback about Parent Craft which has helped to allay their fears about becoming new parents.”
