George Eliot Hospital is promoting Nutrition and Hydration week to highlight the importance of nutrition and hydration to patients, their families and carers.
Nutrition and Hydration Week 2016 is a national campaign asking everyone to pledge their support to highlight the importance of nutrition and hydration as an essential element of care.
George Eliot Hospital is celebrating Nutrition and Hydration Week by organising a number of events across the hospital to promote the key messages from the campaign. Alexandra, Nason, Melly, Elizabeth, Bob Jakin and Mary Garth wards are sharing advice about these issues to raise awareness and improve the knowledge of patients and their families/carers.
One of the main features of the week will be participating in an afternoon Global Tea Party on 16th March 2016. Mary Garth ward has different activities planned every day to help promote good nutrition and hydration. Other activities include a launch of new kitchen facilities in Melly and Nason wards, quizzes and much more. A new range of adapted crockery for patients is also being introduced which has been kindly donated by our amazing League of Friends.
