George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Reverend Ricarda Witcombe as the new chaplaincy team leader.
Rev Witcombe was ordained in 2001 and for the last eight years has been Vicar of St. Paul and St. Stephen in Gloucester. She has a background in health care having trained as a nurse at Westminster Hospital in London. She served her curacy in Nottingham and has worked with chaplaincies in Nottingham and Gloucester.
Rev Ricarda Witcombe will succeed Canon Edward Pogmore who is retiring from the Trust in March after 25 years service. She will be licensed by the Bishop of Coventry, Rt Rev Dr Christopher Cocksworth, at a service in the George Eliot chapel on Thursday April 3rd at 2.00 p.m.
Canon Pogmore said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ricarda to the Trust. It has been my privilege to contribute to the care of the whole team of the hospital for the last 25 years.”
