Members of the public are invited to join patients, visitors and staff at George Eliot Hospital for a cuppa this Friday as part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.
The Trust will join thousands of other organisations and groups around the country on Friday (28 September) to mark the annual event and help Macmillan to raise more than £10m. The event will take place in Raveloe’s conference room (next to the restaurant) and will last from 10am-3pm.
In 2011 the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning smashed its fundraising target and raised a record-breaking £10million, which helped fund the Macmillan therapists, nurses and support line workers who make sure people living with cancer have the best team in their corner, every step of the way. Event organisers at George Eliot Hospital hope to do their bit to help Macmillan make even more money this year.
Julie Smith, Macmillan Information and Support Manager, said: “Everyone is welcome to join us for a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit or slice of cake. It’s all for a really good cause so please come and help us raise as much money as possible.”
