Donation works out for local people

Fitness fanatics from George Eliot Hospital have helped raise money for a good cause. £4,000 of profits from the staff gym, located in the maternity unit, have been split equally between Mary Ann Evans Hospice and the hospital’s League of Friends.

Tikkers Gym has over 150 members paying a monthly subscription to use the service. The money raised from these subscriptions is used to maintain the facility and everything left over is donated to these good causes.

Steve Clark, who helps run the gym, said: “We have so many people at the hospital benefiting from the gym and we’re pleased that other local people are able to benefit from it as well through the good work carried out by the hospice and League of Friends.”
