Nishan the first baby of 2017 at George Eliot Hospital

New Year Baby 2016

It was an extra special new year for one family as they welcomed a new addition not long after midnight on January 1 at George Eliot Hospital.

Baby boy Nishan Singh Khaira was born at 00:38 weighing 3.4 kg (7lbs 8 oz) - the only New Year’s day arrival so far at the hospital.

Nuneaton residents Mindy Kaur Khaira and Manny Singh Khaira are now proud mum and dad to three boys.

“Our eldest son is three and a half and is looking forward to meeting his new brother” , said delighted Dad Manny. “Our other son is only 20 months old so is a bit young to understand!”

Mum Mindy praised the maternity team at the hospital saying: ”The care here has been really good.”
