Mrs Collett Mary Garth Donation.JPG

Mrs Vera Collett, her son and grandsons visited the George Eliot Hospital this week to donate a fold up bed to Mary Garth Ward to support visitors who want to stay at the hospital with their family members, in special circumstances.

Mrs Vera Collett had stayed in the hospital in a similar bed recently when her late husband Gordon was an inpatient.  Vera, her family and friends donated £434 to the ward to purchase another bed to benefit other families. The generous donation also enabled the ward to buy accessories, linen and pillows.

Mrs Collett said “I wanted other family members to receive the same experience and extra time with their loved ones as I did with Gordon before he passed away.”

Mary Garth Ward Manager, Elaine Frearson said: “I would like thank the Collett family for their thoughtful donation which we will use to support other families who visit our ward.”
