Kevin McGee, Chief Executive at the George Eliot Hospital Trust, has confirmed today that he will be taking up a position as Chief Executive at the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust later in the year
Kevin, who has been with the George Eliot Hospital Trust since 2011, feels the time is right to move on. “I have a great affinity with the George Eliot Hospital and its staff, who have worked tirelessly over the past few years to create a much brighter future for the Hospital. The last three years have been the highlight of my professional career, and I will always have the fondest of memories for the staff and patients I have met during my time here.
“I am immensely proud of the work that has been done since we were put into Special Measures, and am hopeful that this will lead towards a positive outcome with a more stable future where we can concentrate on delivering great care to the local population.
“It’s with regret that I will be leaving George Eliot, however we have a robust Board of Directors in place who are focused on delivering a sustainable future for the Trust. The management team and staff have worked tirelessly to implement a wholesale set of improvements over the past few years, and I am confident that we are in a much stronger position to move forward with better quality patient care and improved services.”
The process for recruiting a new Chief Executive has begun and further details on new arrangements will be announced when this has completed.
