Amazing local charity ‘Katrina Charity of Angels’ visited the George Eliot Hospital to make another fantastic donation to the Special Care Baby Unit.
David Emery who had set up the Charity, in memory of his daughter Katrina, visited the Special Care Baby Unit to make another welcome donation to the nursing team with fellow fundraisers Susan Wendy Tierney and Yvette Peake.
The group of friends have collected over £10,500 over the last few years for the unit thanks to the hard work of the charity and donations from local people. Money was raised through collecting and recycling aluminium cans, recycling other items, charity raffles and busking. This time they also held a special charity shave event.
Every single penny donated to the charity has been given to help the lives of premature babies, a cause very close to David's heart. Money raised helps to buy new hospital equipment which provides the newborn babies with a better chance at life.
George Eliot Hospital Fundraising Co-ordinator, Jean Whittaker MBE said:”We continue to be overwhelmed by the donations from David and this charity. Their donations are extremely welcome and continue to support babies and their families at the George Eliot.
