Staff at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust are holding a number of events to mark International Nurses Day on Thursday 12 May.
George Eliot nurses are invited by the Director of Nursing, Michelle Norton, to ‘drop-in’ to the Bob Jakin ward to enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and cake. Volunteers of the Oasis Therapy group will be there, offering hand massages to the nurses.
Staff are also invited to participate in a special celebration with Nurses and Midwives across Coventry and Warwickshire at Coventry Cathedral on Thursday 12th May from 11.00am – 1.00pm.
Accident and Emergency Matron, Alison Rolfe, will also be taking over the Trust’s twitter feed @GEHNHSNews to give an insight into what it’s like to work in Accident & Emergency.
Michelle Norton, Director of Nursing at George Eliot Hospital, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating our nurses on International Nursing Day. We’ve got a fantastic, caring team here at George Eliot and we want to show them how much we value them.
“The day links in with the #JoinTeamEliot social media campaign which has seen nurses and midwives recording videos and posting tweets about their working lives to raise awareness of the wonderful richness of variety and opportunities in the profession and in particular here at George Eliot Hospital.”
