The George Eliot Unison Team has been recognised for their proactive work at George Eliot Hospital at the Annual Unison Regional Awards and the TUC Midlands Awards.
The team won Best Overall Development with the “Irene Barker Award” and the Thompsons Solicitors Award for team work and working effectively in the whole of the region at the Annual Unison Regional Awards
Last week, Unison Branch Secretary Dawn Downes was recognised with a TUC Rep of the Year award for her brilliant organisational skills at the TUC Midlands Awards held at the Aston Villa Football Ground. Unison and Unite also won a joint team award at the event.
Their work is being valued locally, nationally and by all their colleagues at the George Eliot.
Unison Representative, Dawn Downes said:”I am overwhelmed to win this personal award and the team awards.
“It is great to be honoured but I am only a cog in the fantastic team here at the George Eliot and I couldn’t do my job without the great staff, volunteers and community people who work together.”
George Eliot Hospital Director of Human Resources, Dorothy Hogg said: “We want to congratulate Dawn and the union representatives here at the George Eliot.
Dawn works tirelessly to support our staff and our local community and this is great recognition of that continuous hard work. It is extremely well deserved”
