Local people have until March 1 to nominate a George Eliot Hospital worker or volunteer for a special ‘Patient Choice Award’ to recognise high quality care.
George Eliot Hospital is inviting members of the public to nominate a staff member or volunteer who has cared for them, a friend or family member, as part of a newly-created awards event - The Team Eliot awards.
George Eliot Hospital has launched the awards to recognise the excellent work of its staff and volunteers. The Team Eliot awards are linked to the Trust’s vision ‘To Excel at Patient Care’ and nominees should be able to represent the following core values:
• Effective open communication
• eXcellence in all that we do
• Challenge but support
• Expect respect and dignity
• Local healthcare that inspires confidence
There are ten award categories in total, eight of the shortlists will be submitted by members of hospital staff, one shortlist – The Patient Choice Award - will be made up of nominations submitted by the public. One is a special award chosen by the Trust’s Chairman from the list of category winners.
Kath Kelly, Chief Executive of the Trust says: “We’re really proud of all of our staff and volunteers at the George Eliot.
“The Team Eliot Awards are a fantastic opportunity to publicly thank the many nurses, doctors, consultants and support staff who each play such an important role in the hospital. We look forward to hearing peoples’ stories about the care we provide.”
