George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is recruiting for a number of exciting new Patient Support Apprentice roles. These roles are the first of their kind at the Hospital and offer a step into  nursing and clinical roles whilst providing  added support to patients

There are ten Apprentice roles available, all of which run for a 14 month period. Applicants must be between ages 17-21 and have lived in the UK for three or more years. Each apprentice will be based on one ward at the George Eliot Hospital and will work with the clinical team to support patients.

The salary is that of the standard apprentice role which is  £5,338 per annum and offers a working pattern of 37.5 hours per week which includes education time and college attendance.

Deputy Director of Nursing James Avery comments on this exciting new opportunity: “We are really pleased to be launching The Patient Support Apprentice role which is perfect for anyone looking to start their career in the health profession. The role offers an opportunity to gain valuable insight and experience working with patients on the wards and further dedicated support to our patients

This is a practical role linked with study and we are pleased to work with TQ Training who offer support and help and have a long and successful record in supporting apprentice programmes . Participants will work to achieve the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care and Care Certificate which a requirement of all working in healthcare

I would urge anyone thinking of a career in the health profession to apply and gain invaluable hands on experience and join us in in delivering the best possible care and support to our patients and carers.”
