George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust Consultant, Dr Nyo Khin, took on a mighty challenge to raise funds for the staff and patients on delivery suite.
Dr Khin, who works on the delivery suite as a specialist doctor, climbed Mount Snowdon with her partner Clive in 2018 and wanted the money to be used for staff and women on delivery suite. The money raised brought three smart televisions for the delivery suite and will be used for staff training purposes and for wellbeing. Staff will be able to have important down time watching the television and recharging their own batteries.
Women and their families on the suite will also benefit from the televisions which will also be used for parent preparation classes and to watch TV on the ward.
Claire Price, Head of Midwifery, said: “We are really grateful to Dr Khin and her partner Clive for taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Snowden to raise funds for us. This is such a wonderful act of kindness. The new televisions will be a great resource to the maternity team and our parents alike.”
