George Eliot Hospital’s Dorothea Unit was the recipient of a generous donation from Lee Dance Academy.
Donna Lee, who set up the Stoke Golding based Academy back in 1995, presented a cheque for almost £1,500 to the hospital to say ‘thank you’ for the care and treatment that her grandmother, Lorna Walker, and father, Martin Walker, have received within the oncology department.
The impressive amount was raised at two dance shows staged at the Civic Hall in Bedworth in the Trust’s honour.
“Our family wanted to give something back to the hospital as my grandmother and father have both been so well cared for,” explained Donna.
The money will be used to purchase new furniture for the Unit’s waiting area and new cuffs for blood pressure machines.
Dorothea Unit Manager, Kay Fox, expressed her thanks on behalf of the Unit, saying: “We really appreciate this kind donation. I’d like to thank Donna and everyone who participated in the shows and helped to raise money which will really benefit the patients we care for.
