An evening of classical music’ took place at Higham Lane School in September and raised over £1000 for George Eliot Hospital’s Breast Care Unit and Oncology Department.
The concert was arranged by the family of Joyce Francis Taylor to celebrate her life and to raise money for the health care services that supported Joyce during her illness. Performers included Matt Buswell, Hannah Sandison and Cliff Zammit-Stevens with Claire Harris on Piano. Matt was the grandson of Joyce.
MP Marcus Jones and daughters Linda Buswell, Janet Carvell and Lisa Lawson handed over the cheque to the Breast Care Unit and Oncology department last week, which will go towards new equipment.
Fundraising co-ordinator, Jean Whitaker said: “We are delighted to receive this cheque and would like to thank Matt and the other musicians for putting this whole show together. It was a great occasion, not only to support the George Eliot Hospital but also to bring classical music to Nuneaton which is really appreciated.”
