Your Appointment

You can book, change and cancel appointments via email.

Please complete the Contact Us form

Select "Appointment" as the Type of Enquiry from the drop down box in the form.

Indicate clearly in the message box whether it is a new booking or a change or cancellation to an existing appointment.

This will then be forwarded to the appropriate department.

Before your appointment
Please bring a list of medication you are taking when attending an outpatient appointment, and also bring a urine sample if requested to do so in your letter.

You should also be prepared to answer questions regarding your medical history. If you wish to bring a relative, friend, or carer with you, please do so.

During your appointment
When you attend for your appointment you will be under the care of the consultant named in your letter, but you may not be seen by the consultant personally, on every visit.

As part of your consultation it may be necessary for you to attend other departments for investigations. Please be prepared to wait or come back as required for future appointments.

Alternatively you may be asked to arrive earlier to allow investigations to be carried out before you see the doctor. Although patients are seen in appointment time order, each patient requires individual attention and it is sometimes necessary to see additional emergency patients, which may upset the schedule.

However, if you have waited 30 minutes past your allocated appointment time, and no explanation for the delay has been given, please ask the receptionist or nurse the reason for the delay.

Following your appointment
Please return to the Reception Desk to make a further appointment, if required, before leaving the department.

Parking and parking spaces for disabled drivers
Limited pay and display parking is available within hospital grounds and permits are available submit to fulfilling certain criteria.

Please note that disabled parking spaces are also pay and display. Please try to bring coins with you, as change is not always available.

Wheelchair hire
There are a number of wheelchairs available for use during your visit. A £1 coin will be needed to release the wheelchair, which will be refunded when the wheelchair is returned.

If you need an interpreter in any of these languages, or any other language, to help you at your appointment, the Trust will endeavour to provide one.
