The speech and language therapy department is an integrated service for our inpatients, out patients and community patients.
We work with patients who need assistance with acquired communication and eating and drinking problems (dysphagia).
We provide a service to adults who live in North Warwickshire who have acquired problems with speech, language voice and dysphagia. Some of the conditions we work with include; stroke, progressive neurological conditions, acquired brain injury, ENT disorders and head and neck cancer.
We provide a comprehensive in patient service to neurological patients including dementia and to head and neck cancer patients admitted with a medical condition.
We also provide a specialist service to the stroke ward and to the stroke outreach team and work closely with the nutritional support team.
