Opening Hours

Radiology including x-rays

Radiology is open from 9am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday. 

If you require an x-ray please go to main x-ray reception and the team will book your x-ray. Patients are scanned in turn and advance booking for x-rays is currently not available. 

CT & MRI Scans by appointment.

Emergency and Inpatient services

24/7/365 emergency on call for CT Scans. 

24/7/365 service for inpatient A&E x-rays

About the Service:

The Department of Clinical Imaging and Interventional Radiology department provides imaging for the diagnosis and interventional treatment of a large array of conditions. The multidisciplinary team performs nearly 132,000 examinations a year at the George Eliot Hospital.

Our department is committed to the provision of state of the art imaging technologies and constantly evolving techniques. This enables us to offer a high quality level of patient service and care.

The department is located in the main hospital building, on the ground floor.

All x-ray rooms provide digital radiography. There are 3 general ultrasound rooms. Recently the department installed a new ‘state of the art’ Intervention Room with CT scanners and a new MRI Imaging Suite with two MRI scanners
