Category 1 - Advocating and supporting continuing improvement and development for all staff

An individual or team award for staff who have gone the extra mile in supporting and ensuring that all staff are encouraged and supported to engage in improvement and professional development. The nominations in this category should:

  • Demonstrate how the individual or team has encouraged supported and delivered improvement of continuing development for staff

  • Provide example(s) of such

 
Category 2 - Building strong partnerships with stakeholder organisations to include research, teaching and community organisations for the benefit of our patients

An individual or team award for staff who had worked closely with organisations, usually external to break down traditional organisational boundaries such that patients can benefit from seamless care, innovation, etc.  The nominations in this category should demonstrate the relationship developed and how that has impacted the patient(s) who have benefitted.

Category 3 - Continually Improve the quality of core service

The non-clinical award, for the person or team who has worked to improved the quality of a core or corporate service for the benefit of patients.


Category 4 - The Leadership Award

Awarded to the individual who has embedded leadership and particularly accountability within an area of the Trust.


Category 5 - Instilling a culture of research and innovation

Awarded to the individual or team of individuals who have engaged in research or innovative practice for the benefit of patients.

Credit will be given where this is well publicised increasing the likelihood of others learning from and engaging in similar work.


Category 6 - Improving Access Award

The award for improving the availability of  care delivered locally to the patient, this could be tertiary centre services delivered on the GEH site or the shift of acute care to the community.


Category 7 - Improving the patient environment

The award for ensuring that the environment in which care is provided is the best it can be.  This award would go to the individual or team who demonstrates consistently high levels of contribution to improving the safety of the patient environment.


Category 8 - Sustaining safe services

For the individual or team who go the extra mile to deliver safe services constantly.


Special award - Chairman’s Award for improving patient experience

Customer care award for the team who have contributed most to improving the patient experience.


Special award - Chief Executive’s EXCEL Award

For the outstanding individual who has gone the extra mile.
